Welcome to the Connecticut ColdFusion User Group Wiki.

About this Wiki:

The focus of this Wiki is to allow collaboration on creating a ColdFusion course curriculum, with the course to be conducted at Sacred Heart University, starting in the Fall of 2008.

Some more about this initiative:

  • Why?
    • Finding ColdFusion talent in our area is difficult. In order for businesses that use CF to grow, we are going to need more developers with ColdFusion exposure and experience. This course is an attempt to start that process.
  • Who?
    • This is a joint initiative between the Connecticut ColdFusion User Group and Sacred Heart University.
    • Domenick Pinto and Sany Honda are the main contacts at Sacred Heart.
    • David O Malley and Phil Hayes are the managers of the Connecticut CFUG
  • Where?
    • We intend to hold the classes at the Fairfield campus of Sacred Heart University
  • What?
    • Initially, we will offer a non-accredited course on ColdFusion development
    • We would like to touch on SOA. Flex and Air, as they are complimentary technologies
    • This course is aimed at those with development experience/education
  • When?
    • We are aiming to have a non-accredited course in the Fall of 2008, with an accredited course to follow sometime in 2009
  • How can I help?
    • Get involved with the development of the curriculum
      • If you want to do this, send me an email (domalley@cfugitives.com) with your background and what you have to offer.
    • Sponsor the course
      • Initially, we're going to charge a nominal fee for the course - its non accredited, and we want to test the curriculum.
      • If you are a local company, that will rely on a steady stream of CF talent as your company grows, maybe you'd consider a "scholarship" for a student to enroll in this course. That student might just be your next employee!
